The Sad Little Boy - An Illustration Experiment

Here's an illustration I did for no reason other than to try out a few things I've been wanting to do for awhile.

It's been an interesting couple of weeks...  I injured my thumb in a freak textbook box moving incident.  (Perhaps the inspiration for the sad little boy?)  Thankfully, I had a three week back log of Chim Chum comics, because I haven't been able to hold a brush pen to ink.

I'm happy to report that the doctor was able to save the finger and I will be able to return to drawing by next week!  (The doctor kept claiming I wasn't in danger of losing the finger, but what does he know?)

Glad the digit is OK and I see it didn't affect your work! Nice! Great expression. Love Chim too! What a wise plus sized samurai!

But the real question is--will you be able to play the violin again?

(Love the picture :)
